54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Ha Mim. 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book, whereof the verses are explained in detail;- a Qur'an in Arabic, for people who understand;- 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 Those who practise not regular Charity, and who even deny the Hereafter. 7 The righteously striving believers will have a never-ending reward". 8
