We built the heavens by Our authority; and We are the Lord of power and expanse. 47 And the earth have We laid out, how gracious is the Spreader (thereof)! 48 And in everything have We created opposites, so that you might bear in mind [that God alone is One]. 49 Flee therefore unto Allah; verily I am unto you from Him a warner manifest. 50 Do not set up another god, along with God. I come from Him to warn you plainly. 51 Likewise, there came no messenger to those before them, but they said, "He is a sorcerer or a madman." 52 Have they bequeathed it unto each other! Nay! they are a people contumacious. 53 So turn away thou from them, not thou art blameworthy. 54 Do, however, keep exhorting them; for exhortation benefits those endowed with faith. 55 And I have not created the jinn and the men except that they should serve Me. 56 No Sustenance do I require of them, nor do I require that they should feed Me. 57 Lo! Allah! He it is that giveth livelihood, the Lord of unbreakable might. 58 And verily, they who are bent on doing evil shall have their share [of evil] like unto the share of their fellows [of old]: so let them not ask Me to hasten [their doom]! 59 Woe, then, to the Unbelievers, on account of that Day of theirs which they have been promised! 60
