Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
