The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He hath created man. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
