The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
