The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

A. L. M. 1 This is The Book free of doubt and involution, a guidance for those who preserve themselves from evil and follow the straight path, 2 who believe in the unseen, establish the Salats and expend (in Our way) out of what We have bestowed on them; 3 who believe in what has been sent down to thee and what has been sent down before thee, and have faith in the Hereafter; 4 they are the people who are rightly following their Lord and it is they who shall be successful. 5 Surely those who disbelieve, it being alike to them whether you warn them, or do not warn them, will not believe. 6 Allah has sealed up their hearts and ears and a covering has fallen over their eyes, and they have incurred the severest punishment. 7
