The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 And all that which they used to earn availed them not. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 About what they used to do. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
