Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In a Garden on high, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
