1/2 Hizb 45
< random >
۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 What, do we then not die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
