Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters, 6 who do not pay Zakah, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
