Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: 'We have heard the wondrous Qur'an, 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. 7 ‘And we reached the sky, so we found it strongly guarded and filled with comets.’ 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 We do not know if this means ill for the dwellers of the earth, or their Lord wishes guidance for them. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 ‘And that some among us are Muslims and some are the unjust; and whoever has accepted Islam – it is they who have thought rightly.’ 14 but those who are wrongdoers will become the fuel of Hell." 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 All the parts of the body to be placed on the ground during prostration belong to God. 18 "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." 19
