Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 and We took vengeance on them.
