۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 There will neither be any harm in it for their body nor will it intoxicate their mind. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 What, do we then not die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 They found their father going astray 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
