The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
