Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
