The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few of later ages, 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 And extended shade, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
