In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who establish proper ranks. 1 and the scarers scaring 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 Behold, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with the beauty of stars, 6 Protecting them against every wayward devil, 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 And when they are reminded, they remember not. 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.” 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
