Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
