Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 He verily will be content. 21
