We shall attach to him who goes blind to the remembrance of Ar-Rahman a devil as companion, -- 36 whereupon, behold, these [evil impulses] bar all such from the path [of truth,] making them think that they are guided aright! 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment. 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 Even if We take you away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 So, hold fast to the Book that has been revealed to you, you are surely on the right path, 43 The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it. 44 And ask (O Muhammad SAW) those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you: "Did We ever appoint aliha (gods) to be worshipped besides the Most Beneficent (Allah)?" 45
