But when the believers are called to Allah and His Messenger, in order that he judges between them, their reply is: 'We hear and obey' Such are the prosperous. 51 And he who obeys Allah and His Apostle, and fears Allah, and is careful of (his duty to) Him, these it is that are the achievers. 52 ۞ And they swear by Allah with the most energetic of their oaths that if you command them they would certainly go forth. Say: Swear not; reasonable obedience (is desired); surely Allah is aware of what you do. 53 Say: 'Obey God, and obey the Messenger; then, if you turn away, only upon him rests what is laid on him, and upon you rests what is laid on you. If you obey him, you will be guided. It is only for the Messenger to deliver the manifest Message.' 54 God has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely grant them power in the land as He granted to those who were before them; and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them. He will cause their state of fear to be replaced by a sense of security. Let them worship Me and associate no other with Me. Whoever still chooses to deny the truth is truly rebellious. 55 So observe your devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and obey the Apostle so that you may be shown mercy. 56 Think not that the disbelievers can escape in the land. Fire will be their home - a hapless journey's end! 57
