Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 And those that strike violently, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day is it timed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
