Blessed be He Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving light. 61 It is He who made the night and day an alternation for him who cares to reflect and be grateful. 62 And the servants of the Beneficent Allah are they who walk on the earth in humbleness, and when the ignorant address them, they say: Peace. 63 And these who pass the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing up. 64 who pray, "Our Lord, save us from the torment of Hell, for its torment is killing: 65 "Evil indeed is it as an abode, and as a place to rest in"; 66 And those who, when they spend, are neither prodigal nor grudging; and there is ever a firm station between the two; 67 And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. 68 and his torment shall be doubled on the Day of Resurrection, and he shall abide in a state of ignominy, 69 Unless he repents, believes, and works righteous deeds, for Allah will change the evil of such persons into good, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful, 70 and seeing that he who repents and [thenceforth] does what is right has truly turned unto God by [this very act of] repentance. 71 And those who do not bear false witness, and when they pass by frivolity, they pass by with dignity; 72 Who, when reminded of their Lord's revelations, do not fall for them like the deaf and blind; 73 who say, 'Our Lord, give us refreshment of our wives and seed, and make us a model to the godfearing.' 74 Those shall be recompensed with the highest rank for their patience. There they shall receive a greeting, and peace! 75 There they shall abide forever: a blessed dwelling and a blessed resting place. 76 Say thou: my Lord careth not for you were it not for your prayer; whereas ye have even belied, so presently this denial shall come as the cleaving punishment. 77
