The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And no trifle. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
