In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To clear or to warn. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 when heaven shall be split 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place the womb. 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 For what day is that time fixed? 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
