Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it covers 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
