Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 By oath of the clear Qur’an. 2 Verily We! We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that haply ye may reflect. 3 And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old? 6 but whenever a prophet came to them, they mocked him, 7 Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 (Yea, the same that) has made for you the earth (like a carpet) spread out, and has made for you roads (and channels) therein, in order that ye may find guidance (on the way); 10 That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);- 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 So that you may properly mount their backs, and may remember your Lord’s favour when you have mounted them, and say, “Purity is to Him, Who has given this ride in our control, and we did not have the strength for it.” 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 Yet they have assigned to Him a part of His own servants! Man is dearly unthankful. 15
