By no means! By the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 As a warning unto men, 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 about the sinners. 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
