And to the Thamud [We sent] their brother Salih. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord. This is the she-camel of Allah [sent] to you as a sign. So leave her to eat within Allah 's land and do not touch her with harm, lest there seize you a painful punishment. 73 "And remember when He made you successors after 'Ad (people) and gave you habitations in the land, you build for yourselves palaces in plains, and carve out homes in the mountains. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allah, and do not go about making mischief on the earth." 74 The chief of those who behaved proudly among his people said to those who were considered weak, to those who believed from among them: Do you know that Salih is sent by his Lord? They said: Surely we are believers in what he has been sent with 75 [But] the arrogant ones said: "Behold, what you have come to believe in we refuse to regard as true!" 76 They then slew the camel and rebelled against the orders of their Lord saying, " Salih, if you are truly a Messenger, let that torment with which you have threatened us come to pass." 77 Therefore the earthquake seized them, so at morning they remained lying flattened in their homes. 78 He turned from them, saying: 'I conveyed to you, my nation the Message of my Lord and gave you counsel; but you had no love for sincere advisers' 79 And We sent Lut – when he said to his people, “What! You commit the shameful acts which no one in the creation has ever done before you?” 80 Lo! ye come with lust unto men instead of women. Nay, but ye are wanton folk. 81 But the answer of his people was only that they said, "Evict them from your city! Indeed, they are men who keep themselves pure." 82 So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who remained [with the evildoers]. 83 And We rained down on them a shower (of Stones). So witness the end of sinners! 84
