The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And no trifle. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
