Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
