Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 His wealth will not suffice him, neither what he has gained; 2 Anon he shall roast into Fire having flame. 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
