The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
