The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 by a burning fire 5 They sat by it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
