The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
