The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
