The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virginal, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
