The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The people's day of reckoning is drawing closer, yet they are heedlessly neglectful. 1 Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. 2 their hearts are diverted. The harmdoers mutter to one another: 'Is this anything else but a human like yourself? What, will you follow sorcery with your eyes open' 3 Say, "My Lord knows every word spoken in the heavens and on the earth. He is All Hearing, All Knowing." 4 Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Quran which are inspired to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" 5 Of the villages We destroyed, there was not one that believed. What, will they not believe? 6 (O Muhammad), even before you We never sent any other than human beings as Messengers, and to them We sent revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 And We did not create them without bodies so they would not eat food – nor that they abide on earth forever. 8 Then we fulfilled the promise unto them. So we delivered them and whom We would, and We destroyed the prodigals. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
