Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
NAY, but consider the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 a warning to humans, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
