Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 and the burden-bearers 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
