Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a Garden on high, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
