AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 Out of what they had gained, nothing proved to be of any benefit to them. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 About what they used to do. 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
