Nay! By the moon 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning to mortals, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who will be in Paradise 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until death approached us". 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
