The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
