The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
WAS THERE NOT a time in the life of man when he was not even a mentionable thing? 1 Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. 2 Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire. 4 As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. 7 those who, for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 (saying): 'We feed you only desirous of the Face of Allah; we seek of you neither recompense nor thanks, 9 “Indeed we fear from our Lord a day which is extremely bitter, most severe.” 10 But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and (blissful) Joy. 11 and recompense them for their patience with a Garden, and robes of silk. 12 Reclining upon couches, they will find therein neither the heat of the sun nor bitter, biting cold, 13 And its shade will cover them, and its fruit clusters brought down low for them. 14 And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass], 15 Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes). 16 And they shall be given to drink from a cup whose mixture is ginger, 17 [derived from] a source [to be found] therein, whose name is "Seek Thy Way". 18 ۞ They will be attended by youths who will not age -- when you see them you will think them to be like sprinkled pearls -- 19 wherever you look, you will see bliss and a great kingdom: 20 They will have fine green silk and brocade, and they will be decked with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will provide them with a drink of pure wine. 21 "This in truth is your recompense, and acceptance of your endeavours." 22
