Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 but my call has only caused them to flee farther and farther away [from Thee]. 6 Evert time I invite them to Your (guidance) so that You can forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, cover their heads with their clothes, persist in their disbelief and display extreme arrogance. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 While He has created you in (different) stages [i.e. first Nutfah, then 'Alaqah and then Mudghah, see (VV. 23:13, 14) the Quran]. 14 "'See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20
