Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ So I swear by Mawaqi (setting or the mansions, etc.) of the stars (they traverse). 75 and, behold, this is indeed a most solemn affirmation, if you but knew it! 76 Most surely it is an honored Quran, 77 in a well-guarded preserved Book, 78 Which none shall touch but those who are clean: 79 a revelation from the Sustainer of all the worlds! 80 Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem, 81 And make denial thereof your livelihood? 82 Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat? 83 and that hour you are watching 84 We are closer to him than you, but you cannot see. 85 Then why do ye not,- If you are exempt from (future) account,- 86 That you send it (not) back-- if you are truthful? 87 Then, if he be of those brought nigh the Throne, 88 For him shall be comfort, and fragrance and a Garden of Delight. 89 And if he is of those on the right hand, 90 Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for (you as you are from) those on the Right Hand. 91 But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray, 92 there shall be a hospitality of boiling water 93 And roasting in a Blaze. 94 Indeed, this is the certain truth. 95 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 96

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
