And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
