The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
