Do you not see how those who dispute God's signs, are turned away from the right path -- 69 Those who reject the Book and the (revelations) with which We sent our messengers: but soon shall they know,- 70 When the fetters and the chains shall be on their necks; they shall be dragged 71 into the boiling water, then into the Fire they are poured; 72 It will then be asked of them: 'Where are those whom you associated, 73 side by side with God?" They will answer: "They have forsaken us - or, rather, what we were wont to invoke aforetime did not exist at all!" And they will be told:] "It is thus that God lets the deniers of the truth go astray: 74 "That was because ye were wont to rejoice on the earth in things other than the Truth, and that ye were wont to be insolent. 75 Enter Hell now to abide in it. How woeful is the abode of those who wax proud! 76 Wherefore persevere thou; verily the promise of Allah is true; then whether We let thee see a part of that wherewith We have promised them, or whether We cause thee to die, unto Us they all will be caused to return. 77 We did aforetime send messengers before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah: but when the Command of Allah issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice, and there perished, there and then those who stood on Falsehoods. 78
